Victoria BC Canada Visitor's Guide
Sydney BC is a beautiful seaside town situated on the Saanich Peninsula north of Victoria Canada. It is 6 km south of the BC Ferries' Swartz Bay Terminal and just east of the Victoria International Airport.
Due to its proximity to downtown Victoria (27 km), the drive to downtown Victoria takes about 40 minutes.
The community is home to a large marina which attracts visiting sailboats and yachts from the USA and lower mainland. Sydney is considered the maritime gateway to the southern Gulf Islands.
Many visitors to Vancouver Island enjoy staying in Sydney due to its small town charm and picturesque waterfront.
A number of moderately priced hotels are available in this friendly community.
In addition to its proximity to the Swartz Bay Ferry Terminal, there is also a ferry service that connects Sydney to San Juan Island (USA) and Washington State (Anacortes).
